The delegation of Turkmenistan is participating in a tourism summit being held in Beijing.

A Turkmen delegation is participating in the WTCF Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit 2026, which is being held from June 1 to 4 at the Zhongguancun International Innovation Center in Beijing’s Haidian District. The delegation includes representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ashgabat city administration.

The event is organized by the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF). This year’s summit is being held under the theme “Smart Tourism, Better Future” and brings together government officials, ministry representatives, tourism organizations, and business leaders from 58 countries and more than 70 cities worldwide.

One of the forum’s central topics is the implementation of modern digital technologies in the tourism industry. Particular attention is being paid to the use of artificial intelligence to improve the quality of tourism services. The summit showcases robot tour guides, intelligent translation systems, and AI-powered solutions for creating personalized travel content.

As part of the business program, the International Tourism Destination Competitiveness Index was also presented. According to the published ranking, Beijing ranked first among the world's digital tourism cities.

The summit serves as an important platform for exchanging experience, discussing emerging trends in the tourism industry, and strengthening international cooperation in tourism.
